A Few Interior Decorating Tips For You

We often see that some of us fall short of ways to decorate our homes. This is exactly when interior decorating tips prove to be really useful. Now we generally have quite a few rooms in our houses which are used for different purposes. So they all need different ways to be decorated.

Well, for most homes we find that there is a living room, bedroom, the dining room, kitchen and bathrooms. These are a few common features in most houses. Now let me give you a few interior decorating tips for these various rooms in your house!

If you want to give your living room a formal look then you can showcase some of your finest possessions. Keep a sofa flanked by two tables and a lamp on top of them! You can also put a few of your finest paintings if you have any.

For a more casual look you can have a television with a few photo frames around it to give it a more homely feel! The curtains could either be very bright and colorful if you have less furniture or it could be of some subtle color depending upon your tastes.

For your bedroom, you could choose soothing shades like gentle hues of blue, lavender, green or jewel-toned colors like toasty browns, pomegranate or topaz. Give the ceiling some color or pattern so that it doesn't look blank when you look up. Minimize your furniture in the room.

Try to incorporate wall cabinets that would provide more storage and yet make the room look spacious. The choice of what kind of bed you want depends entirely upon you. You must keep the size of your room in mind as well.

The dining room should be comfortable enough to serve both family and formal occasion meals. There should be enough space to move around the table. Proper spacing between the chairs should be maintained. The arrangement on the table should be simple.

For regular use, choose durable fabrics that would hide stains. For formal occasions pretty fabrics with floral prints could be suitable. Choose a light fixture or a chandelier with a dimmer switch.

Your kitchen should have enough work space. There should be separate places for keeping utensils, wiping and washing. Try to keep the sink away from the oven. You could have tiles in your kitchen of colors like purple or pink.

To maximize space in your bathroom you could have built in cabinetry. Firebrick flooring could look really nice and authentic. Try and keep the bathing area and toilet separated by a curtain. Metallic taps would look really nice and sleek.
